Other Film Podcasts to Explore

George shares some film podcasts he’s currently enjoying during Lockdown – because sharing is caring, folks.

Sudden Double Deep

A fellow UK independent podcast, from hosts Daryl, Jeanette and Ben. SDD has a great hook, they pick three films (usually from different decades and genres) that share the same word in a title e.g. the word “Fly” covers Super Fly, The Fly and Fly Away Home.

Funny, passionate and laid back, with so many different films covered, it’s an entertaining listen for any serious film fan.

The Best Movies Never Made

A really interesting film podcast where two Hollywood screenwriters, Stephen Scarlata and Josh Miller, look into the potentially great films that never made it into production.

They are usually joined by filmmakers and critics unearthing some great “what if” moments in a fun and engrossing way.

Smersh Pod

As you know, we’re huge fans of James Bond, so naturally, we listen to Bond-related pods. Smersh Pod is hosted by UK comedian and writer John Rain – in each episode, he’s joined by fellow comedians and actors to discuss all things Bond.

Very British, very Bond and thoroughly funny.

Film Stories

Film Stories with Simon Brew Podcast | Free Listening on Podbean App

Hosted by editor, writer, broadcaster and all-round nice guy, Simon Brew Film Stories is a passionate, detailed look back into how some of the biggest films struggled to make it to the screen.

Film Stories is also an independent film magazine and website – which features lots of great articles and non-click-bait news worth reading.

Let me know if you listen to any of the above. If you like what you hear, please let the podcasters know, share the love or leave the coveted iTunes review!

Please note, these are just a handful of film pods I listen to, there are many, many more I can recommend, and probably will do, in a future article.

In the meantime, stay safe, keep your distance, and just keep on keeping on.
